Can Consumerism Curb Deforesation?

CSPO Roundtable

Consumers have become more and more conscious of whether the daily products they buy are made by companies and sourced by countries that care about the environment as much as they do. Increase in deforestation has fast-tracked climate change and threatened biodiversity, adding a sense of urgency to these concerns. Many of our everyday products contain commodities such as soy, palm oil and cocoa sourced from forests around the world. But is sustainability a core principle in their production and distribution? Can consumer choices make a difference in saving our forests? CSPO’s roundtable brings together leading voices from the sustainability and consumer sector along with academics, politicians, and environmental activists to answer that and more
